The Weekly Roost – Edmonton By: Kyle Carruthers The first round is in the books people, and I feel it was a success not only for the industry but the fans as well. We saw some great racing over the weekend, some unfortunate crashes (Beaton, Fitz-Gerald) and two championship calibre rides by Facciotti and Tyler Medaglia. |

Well, first off I want to say sorry for the lateness of this edition of the Monday Maniac. My faithful readers usually get it by 9am or so when they’re relaxing with a morning java while getting the best news from www.mxpmag.com. This one is a tad behind due to the fact that I didn’t get in from Kamloops until 6am this morning on the red eye. Plus, now that we have live audio from each race, I figured it could be a little behind.

The Weekly Roost – Kamloops Hype
By: Kyle CarruthersI’m back! Yes that’s right, The Weekly Roost is returning to mxpmag.com, and to tell you the truth I’m pretty excited to be back writing. It has been a couple months since I have written for any publication, and with Kamloops starting this weekend, when else would be a better time to start?

So it begins!! This is the final week of preparation for the 2010 Monster Energy Motocross Nationals. It has been a 51 weeks since the last national in Kamloops, and to my best recollection it was a good day of racing. Hopefully, six days from now it will be even better. There is a lot going on again this year for the Nationals so I hope you get a chance to come visit us at a round near you, or maybe take a road trip to attend two. Either way, it’s worth it any way you try to make it.

There are just under two weeks away from the drop of the gate on the 2010 CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals here in Canada. For me, this is my most favourite time of the year. The reason for that is you’re just never sure what you’re going to see at the first race. What I mean is you can’t make any predictions based on the numbers you already know or who was on top the year before. Though when the gate drops June 6th at Kamloops there is really no sure bet.

Last week was a really busy week for me. I had a stag for a friend on Friday night, Snocross banquet on Saturday night and a dilemma as to what to do on Sunday. So here it is: Saturday we went to Deerhurst for the Snocross banquet to see all the class winners, listen to speeches, thank yous, goodbyes, etc. In my opinion, this should all have taken place right after the last race at Horseshoe – race ‘til 5, go inside, shower, banquet at 7, done!

Port Perry Photo Report By Ryan Gauld – Photos by Randy Wiebe
Another weekend is in the books here in Ontario with yet another race. This time the weather was on our side and the day went smooth as butter. The track was prepped to perfection and the crew at Port Perry should be happy about their first race in 2010

Rivière-du-Loup Photo Report by Ryan Gauld – Photos by Ghislain Mailloux.
The 30th running of the Rivière-du-Loup Arenacross went off this past Saturday night without a hitch. It is the longest running indoor Arenacross event in Canada, and the most popular event amongst riders. The crowd is crazy as many races held in Quebec. The gate is stacked with fast riders and the purse money is awesome. Here is a little report of what went down in eastern Quebec. A big thanks goes out to Ghislain Mailloux for sending these great pics of the race.
